Stage 6 Math

Hey guys welcome back to another blog post.
This week I did a show me about subtraction in stage 6 math with Mr M. I am going to share it on my blog so here it is.

P.E

This is my P.E blog post. When we did P.E we did running/sprints, throwing, and jumping.

It was fun because we went for a long time and it was good because we got lots of fitness. I had lots of fun doing this because I like doing running and all that sporty stuff.
We are getting ready for athletics.

My Art 2016

Here is my art it is a piece of art of a giraffe. I chose to do realistic so it looks real. I chose realistic because it looks cool to me and I think that other people will too.
It was challenging to draw the spots and the outline.
I am proud of this art!

Literacy Task

This is my literacy task.
We have been learning to put words that make sense into the blank passes. The first one that I did was very hard because I did not know what to do but then I got better at it.
It is called a cloze activity.

My Math Stage 6

This is my math task in stage six that we had this week. It was changing because we had to write our on equation. It was fun even if I don't like it

Project Topic: Handball

• Something I enjoyed about my project was...getting to choose my own topic  because I got to choose one of my favourite sports in the olympics.

• The most challenging thing about my project was…Remembering the rules of handball because some of the rules I could not remember.

• Something interesting I learnt was… that you can not stand in the goal circle in Handball.

Robotics

Hi guys,
Today I want to show what I've been learning in Rimu Hub.
I've been learning about robots and Rimu Hub have been going to a thing called robotics. We have been learning about robot with a man that builds robots (He knows lots about robots). The first time we went, we got to build a robot. Then our second time we went the robots were all ready made and we got to make them move forwards and backwards and that was fun. On our third visit that we went we got to move them forwards, backwards and we even got to make them turn around. We had to play with the robot setting thing to made it go forward, backward and turn around.

Handball

HANDBALL

Hi guys today I'm blogging this because I want to share my work about Handball. I have been doing a project about Handball and it is fun.

Handball is a sport in the Olympics. It is not the Handball that you play at home with your friends, its much harder to play because you get to run with the ball. There are 2 teams and there are 6 men and one goal keeper. You're not allowed to step into the goal circle. That is not a goal and that is one of the rules of Handball. In 2016 at the Rio Olympics, Handball is being played. I think Handball is a cool sport to play and it is fun because you can ask your friends to play with you. If you want to learn to play handball, you can search it up on YouTube and it will come up. You can click what ever one that you like.

My Learning blog post

In week 2, rimu hub have been learning about the Olympics in Rio. We have been been doing lots for fun tasks last week. All of rimu hub have been learning a lot about the Olympics and the athletes. My favourite task was the one where my group won a packet of lollies! The task was the revising task. (When we won the lollies I was very very happy.) I have been happy because I got to learn about the Olympics for a long time and I love sports. I LOVE LEARNING ABOUT THE OLYMPICS.

My Holiday At The Snow

My Holiday At The Snow

In the holidays I went to the snow with Oscar J and his family. But my two favourite parts were going in the snow and at the climbing walls.

In the snow, it is very very cold and when I went to bed, I needed to wear my onesie and my PJ's. When you are going outside, you have to wear some warm clothes and you do not want to wear summer clothes. You will be freezing, like in the night. 

When you go skiing, it is fun because you can go where ever you want and do what ever you want. I went skiing last year and it was fun because I went to the bottom and I got to go back to the top on the chair lift. When I first learnt to ski, I was nervous but when I got the hang of it, I felt good.

When we were at the climbing walls I went up lots of them. One of the walls had no handles to grab on to, it was dark and I could only see the bottom from where you start from. It was hard because you had to use your back and legs to climb up (but it was safe because you had a harness hooked up to you). When I first went up I was nervous but on my second go I felt good because I knew it wasn't scary.  My favourite wall was one of the green and yellow walls because you had to climb and at the top it curved around and you had to ring the bell.

My Passion Project

Hi,

I'm blogging this because I want to share my passion project.

I put a lot of effort into this and it take me a long to do this. I have got some videos of some rugby skills and instructions to tell you how to do it.

Describe your passion project. What was your learning in it? What were you trying to produce?(My passion project basically me showing people how to do some rugby skills and Teaching how to do it properly)

How far did you get with your passion project? What would have helped you to get further? I finished it.(I got my passion project done when we had to get it done)

What was the most challenging part of your passion project? (Making my instructions and remembering how to do it)

What was surprising about your passion project? (That I got it done on time)

My Basic Facts

Hi, I'm blogging  this because I want to share my learning.

After morning tea we do basic facts to get us more better at maths. I like it because I learn lots and lots from my teacher which is Mrs Carr. Some days we get hard questions, some days we get easy questions. Every time if we get 10/10 we get a smelly sticker. Every day we get different questions so we can learn more and more. I mostly get then all right. My goal is to get all of them right and go up to the next math stage group so I can get better and better. I like it when we get hard questions because I learn lots more and get better at math. All of Rimu hub does basic facts every day but some days we do quick write. All of Rimu hub have to go to a basic facts stage group. I'm in stage five and I hope I can get to stage six

Motorbike trail ride

Hi guys I'm blogging this because in the holidays my step-dad and I went on a motorbike trail ride.

When we arrived a lady told us where to go. After that we had to get a number on your hand. Colin's (Colin is my step-dads name) number was 69 and mine was 70, and when the sausage's and bread were ready, all the people that had a number on their hand got a free sausage and bread. 

There was a kid's practice area where they could go around as many times as they wanted to. Suddenly someone stopped so I stopped right next to him and he asked me if I wanted to race him. So I said "Ok," then we started the race. He was in the lead but then me and my 2 wheeler Honda motorbike took over the 4 wheeler Yamaha motorbike. 

Finally the end was coming up and guess who won? Me with my two wheeler motorbike. 10 minutes later, the 8 kilometres track opened. Colin and I went around about 6 or 7 laps. 


On the 8 kilometre track, there are steep hills, rocks, bumps, and lots more objects.

My Best Learning
I am proud of this because I put lots of effort into it and I think I put my personal best in to it. My biggest challenge was thinking of ideas to write down because I had to try hard to remember.

The Bamboo forest

There are a jumble of loud rowdy children in the bamboo forest. The bamboo forest is exciting but sometimes a little dangerous. Out of nowhere you can hear bamboo stick breaking, trees waving and children howling.

The bamboo forest is a fun area to play in because you can pretend to be a survivor. The bamboo forest is fun because you get to explore places you haven’t been to before, and get to climb trees whenever you want. In the bamboo forest you can get stick and pretend to fight like it was the end of the world. The bamboo forest has lots of cool secret spots for you to make bases in.

In the bamboo forest you can hear lots of noises everywhere. You can hear car driving past, birds singing there nice songs, Bamboo sticks shaking and sticks falling to the ground.

The bamboo forest feels round, wooden, smooth, spocky.

The bamboo forest is a fun area to play in. Make sure you go to Camp Omatua and play in the bamboo forest.

My Dogs

My dogs are nice. They are friendly and one of them might bark but don't be afraid. They will get used to you. My dogs names are Lincoln and Floyd. Lincoln will run and lick your hand and Floyd will bark for a little while. Floyd is kind when you get to know him. Lincoln can not stand the water. When ever we turn on the hose he will climb over the gate that we lock him in and will run after the hose. Floyd likes the water at the river.

I got Lincoln for my 7th birthday. When I first saw him I looked at his feet and said "Wow his feet are massive. And when he was 1 year old he started to dig holes in the back garden.

Floyd likes to have peace and quiet. And when Floyd was 1 year old he started to dig holes in the back garden too. When he is happy his tail will shake left to right very fast. When me and Colin take Lincoln and Floyd to the river, Floyd will run around the drive way for 5 seconds and then he hops into the truck.

Hockey Guide

Hockey Guide

I am writing this because I am talking to you about learning hockey.
In week 3 we started hockey. The man was a very good teacher. His name was Regan. He taught us dribbling, Indian dribbling, skip step and pass and juggling. We learnt about the rules about hockey so people know about the rules before we got to do the hockey. We did a warm up game then we would do the hockey. My favourite skill that I learnt was the skip, step and pass. Regan taught me lots of things. He even showed me something cool. He threw it up in the air and then he flipped his hockey stick in the air then he caught it then the ball went on his hockey stick.   

My First Blog Post 2016

Hi my name is Mitch and I go to Parkvale school. I am in Rimu Hub and my class is room 21.
My teacher is very very kind. Her name is Mrs Love. I like my teacher because she supports me when I need it. My favourite thing about room 21 is that everyone is kind to each other.

I am blogging this because it is my first blog post of 2016

I have two pets. Both of my pets names are Lincoln and Floyd. Lincoln is a German Shepherd and Floyd is a Doberman. I used to have a dog called Bosco and he was a Beagle. Bosco was the first dog I ever had in my whole life.

I like sports because sports can get you fit. My favourite sports are Rugby, Soccer and Cricket.
I like sports because it is fun to play. Sports is fun for me because you get to play against
your friends. Sports is very hard for some people but not me. I play Rugby for a club. The club that I
play for is Havelock North Wolves.

My favourite thing to do at school is play with my friends, have swims and have lots of fun at Parkvale School

I have lots of friends. My four best friends are Callan R, Jack G, Hunta Wilson and Oscar J.
We like to play together every day because we are best friends.
